PC Arthur Edward Quemby Died 9 January 1948, aged 39 Killed performing motorcycle beat duty when he skidded on icy roads. PC Patrick George Fitzgerald Died 29 January 1948, aged 33 Fatally injured in an accident when he crashed on motorcycle patrol. PC Nathanael Edgar Died 13 February 1948, aged 33 Shot and fatally wounded by a suspect he was questioning at Southgate. PC Albert Goodsall KPM Died 8 September 1948, aged 59 Death hastened by excessive hours of work as national Federation Secretary. PC Christopher James Dent Died 22 April 2009, aged 36 Killed travelling home from duty in the collision of a car with his motorcycle. D/Sgt John Mantle Gilbert Died 9 August 2009, aged 58 Saved a colleague's life whilst sub-aqua diving at the cost of his own life. Posthumously awarded the Royal Humane Society's In Memoriam Testimonial. Sgt Iain Stuart McLay Died 2 November 2009, aged 42 Fatally injured in a motorcycle collision while travelling to report for duty. PC Daniel Alastair Gibb Died 5 March 2010, aged 25 Killed in an early morning motorcycle accident travelling to report for duty. PC Sean Peter McColgan Died 6 April 2010, aged 37 Died in a motorcycle collision whilst travelling home from duty at Hayes. PC Ian Paul Swadling Died 4 May 2011, aged 34 Died when he came off his motorcycle whilst travelling home from duty. PC Scott Eastwood-Smith Died 14 May 2011, aged 29 Fatally injured in a motorcycle collision while travelling to report for night duty. Insp Preston John Gurr Died 28 April 2012, aged 53 Died in a motorcycle accident whilst travelling home from night duty. DC Adele Yvette Cashman Died 5 November 2012, aged 30 Died after collapsing whilst chasing suspected thieves in Belsize Park. Sgt Ian Harman Died 3 May 2013, aged 47 Collapsed and died at his desk whilst on duty at Morden Police Office. PC Shazahan Wadud Died 8 September 2013, aged 29 Died when a car was in collision with his motorcycle while travelling to duty. PC Andrew Duncan Died 22 September 2013, aged 47 Fatally injured on 20 September when struck by a car which failed to stop. PC Jonathan Thomas Relph Died 26 December 2014, aged 45 Died after a seizure causing a head injury while returning home from duty. PC David Charles Arthur Died 26 December 2014, aged 50 On 15 December he became unwell on duty and died after multiple strokes. PC Sahib Lalli Died 27 November 2015, aged 38 While returning home from a night shift he collaped and later died in hospital. PC Keith Palmer Died 22 March 2017, aged 48 Fatally stabbed in a terrorist incident protecting the Houses of Parliament. Posthumously awarded the George Medal for Gallantry. PC Joseph Robert Cooke Died 25 December 2018, aged 39 Died from complications of surgery on an injury sustained in an arrest in May. Sgt Colin Michael Fox Died 1 May 2019, aged 56 Collapsed whilst policing Richmond Park and died the same day. PC Christopher Miller Died 15 September 2020, aged 35 Died in a motorcycle collision whilst travelling to duty in the early morning. Sgt Matiu (Matt) Ratana Died 25 September 2020, aged 54 Shot and fatally wounded by a man being detained at Croydon Custody Centre. PC Daniel Golding Died 18 August 2022, aged 46 Died in a road traffic collision with a van riding an unmarked police motorcycle. LEST WE FORGET
