S/Con Clifford Benjamin Bassett Died 13 January 1961 Collapsed and died while on foot patrol in the early hours. S/Con David Johnstone Died 27 April 1961, aged 29 Shot by mistake in a misunderstanding by officers guarding a bridge. S/Con Samuel Henry Irwin Died 15 May 1964, aged 42 Collapsed and died while on a foot beat patrol in Belfast City. S/Sgt Andrew McFeeters Died 5 September 1964, aged 34 Collapsed and died on duty during a USC shooting competition. S/Con John Charles Greene Died 17 November 1964 Killed on duty when he was struck by a car, which failed to stop. S/Con (Rtd) William James Heenan Died 3 May 1985, aged 52 A former USC officer, shot dead by terrorist gunmen outside his home. S/Cmdt (Rtd) Samuel V.
