Died 25 March 2021, aged 38

While on a police personal safety training course, within an hour of passing a  'bleep' fitness test, he became unwell and left the course to return home, where an ambulance took him to hospital. Whilst undergoing hospital tests, before full diagnosis and treatment could be given, he suffered a heart attack and died.

An inquest found he died of natural causes which could not have been predicted.

Quamar, a university IT graduate from Bury, joined GMP in August 2009, working at Rochdale and from June 2010 on Middleton neighbourhood police team. In 2016 he gained a specialist role within the Counter Terrorism Policing North West unit.

He was survived by his parents, brother and two sisters.

Died 14 January 2021, aged 59

Died in a road traffic collision travelling home after a 12 hour night shift at Sellafield nuclear complex in Cumbria. He apparently lost control of his car in deteriorating weather and ran into a stationary lorry on the A66 near Penrith.

An inquest found that he died as the result of a road traffic collision.

Darryl joined the CNC in October 2019 as a specialist authorised firearms officer with the Sellafield Operational Police Unit, after serving in Cumbria Constabulary for a number of years; formerly an RSPCA chief inspector for Penrith, and a soldier.

He was survived by his wife of 28 years and their two adult daughters and son;
his parents, older sister and three brothers.

Died 10 February 2021, aged 57

Police Scotland Badge

Collapsed and died suddenly whilst walking home from duty at Livingston.

Tom had completed over 29 years' service and was due to retire later in the year. He had spent all his service in the Lothian & Borders area covering many roles including temporary sergeant.  

He was survived by his two brothers.
