Died 18 August 2022, aged 46

Killed in a road traffic collision on the B158 at Bayford, Hertfordshire while riding an unmarked police motorcycle during the morning when he was involved in a road traffic collision with a van and died at the scene. PC Golding was on duty but was not responding to an incident or taking part in an active operation at the time.

A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released under investigation for further enquiries.

Daniel had served with Surrey Police and Hampshire Constabulary as a roads policing officer, motorcycle instructor and senior crash investigator before transferring to the Metropolitan Police driving academy in February 2022, with a view to a full time role with the Special Escort Group.

He was survived by his wife and their young son and daughter.

Died 14 March 2022, aged 48

While taking part in a police dog handlers training course, at 9.25 a.m. he was in the process of placing objects on the ground for officers to practice tracking with their dogs, when he suddenly collapsed. Despite resucitation attempts by colleagues and medics he was pronounced dead 90 minutes later at the hospital.

Craig joined GMP in 2003, working on the Tactical Aid Unit since 2008 and had recently started his initial course to become a dog handler.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Died 26 April 2022, aged 40

While on duty in his police base at Pytchley during the morning he was suddenly taken ill before being removed to hospital at Kettering where he died.

Alex was a member of the Roads Crime Team, based in Pytchley, Kettering, he had served with Northamptonshire Police for more than 20 years and during that time, received several awards and commendations for life saving and courageous conduct.

He was survived by his father and his partner.

Died 23 November 2022, aged 20

Collapsed and died suddenly whilst out patrolling his rural beat, he was found by colleagues who knew he was diabetic but they were unable to resuscitate him.

Dan joined the force in April 2022, being tutored at Fleet before being posted to Yately. He hoped to be a police officer and was due to attend a Recruit Assessment Centre the day after his death. He was also an Army Cadet Force Adult Volunteer with the rank of Sergeant Instructor, having been an ACF member for 8 years.

He was survived by his parents and their partners.

Whilst on duty and working from home in Brighton
he died unexpectedly following a medical incident.

Steve, from Brighton, had 20 years service with the force where he worked
with the Sussex Roads Policing Unit, having recently been promoted to sergeant.

He was survived by his partner and their four children.

Died 21 December 2022, aged 47

Lancashire Constabulary badge

After being taken ill and collapsing while on duty at Preston police station, he was treated by officers before being taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where he died from a heart-related condition.

Richard was an experienced member of the Constabulary working
on Tactical Operations as a traffic officer on South Division.

He was survived by his partner and her son and his son and daughter.
